Ehime University Policy

  1. We all must work to create a comfortable environment where everyone is respected as an individual. Sexual, power, and other kinds of harassment are serious violations of human rights. They can inflict deep scars on a person and should not be allowed. At this University, acts of harassment are not to be tolerated.
  1. In order to prevent and eradicate harassment we are making efforts to raise awareness through public relations activities to deepen understanding of the causes, background, actual conditions and problems of harassment and to gain sufficient understanding.

Center for Equal Opportunity

The Center continues the university’s history of dealing with harassment and other issues in an objective and fair fashion and is always working to improve it’s services, integrating consultation, response to consultation and anti-harassment policy at the university.
We try to make it as easy as possible to come for consultation by having consultants in each faculty, center and institute. Our consultants include both faculty members and off-campus professionals enabling responses to a diverse range of issues. We work closely with the Student Support Center, faculties and other entities to follow each case to provide full care to the victim, along with everyday activities in order to prevent harassment.

Message from the Director

We hope that the Center for Equal Opportunity will be a center that assists all members of Ehime University to enjoy their university life collaboratively on an equal footing and to cultivate themselves as independent individuals of society.

One of the keywords of our time is “diversity”. The Center will continue to provide proactive support for members of Ehime University, where people with diverse characteristics gather, so that they can mutually recognize the differences in their various backgrounds and ways of thinking, and work together for self-improvement without causing sterile conflict.
